ENERGY CONSUMPTION ANALYSIS

ADP Consulting was commissioned to conduct controlled testing for energy consumption on Prestige Modular Coolrooms and Freezers as well as Refrigerated Shipping Containers.

  • A 7-day testing period was used to measure the following electrical parameters.
  • Total (KW) – the total power demand over the duration of the logging event provides an indication of the total demand and therefore efficiency of power use utilised to provide the required cooling.
  • Voltage (V) – Unexpected fluctuations in voltage are damaging to electrical systems, therefore consistent voltage is imperative to maintaining the efficient and reliable operation of electrical systems.
  • Frequency (F) – Maintaining a consistent electrical frequency is important because multiple frequencies cannot operate alongside each other without damaging equipment.
  • Testing was conducted in a controlled factory environment, demonstrating that all systems were subjected to consistent conditions.
  • This testing was carried out at WIBS Craigieburn factory during the last week of March 2023.

DECIBEL SOUND ANALYSIS

ADP Consulting was commissioned to conduct controlled testing for the Acoustic performance on Prestige Modular Coolrooms and Freezers as well as Refrigerated Shipping Containers.

  • Acoustic measurements and sound power calculations were undertaken in general accordance with AS1217.7.
  • The standard considers measurement distance and measurement environment.
  • The testing was conducted using fully calibrated instrumentation, with background noise not considered to have influenced the noise source measurements.

NOISE LEVELS

According to www.hearinghealthfoundation.org

  • 70 db or below is considered safe for human hearing.
  • 80 db & above, for prolonged periods will cause hearing damage.
  • Like the Richter scale that measures earthquakes, the decibel scale is LOGARITHMIC, that is each 10-point increase in db = a tenfold increase in sound intensity.
  • This 10 db increase of say 70 db to 80 db is perceived as TWICE AS LOUD by the human ears.
